you-create is an annual creative competition, run by Belper & Duffield Rotary, for young people in the Belper and Duffield area, aged 5 to 17.
There are 5 categories- film/reels, cartoon/Manga, Arts (to include painting, drawing, sculpture, handicrafts etc), writing (poetry and prose), and photography; these are judged in age groups.
you-create offers young people the opportunity to have their artwork judged by a professional, and all entries are publicly displayed: there are also pocket-money prizes and certificates to be won. It is a great way to promote confidence and build self-esteem, as well as promoting the arts as a potential career choice.
This year, 2026, we aligned our theme with the Belper 250 celebration, a celebration of Belper’s ‘birth’ as an industrial town; the theme was:
Belper- Past Present Future.
Entrants were encouraged to be as creative as they wished with the subject.
This is a display of the 1st and 2nd prize winners in each category and age group, Highly Commended entries, and entries chosen by the Belper and Duffield Rotary President, and also Belper Youth Council, for special awards.
